As part of "MATEREALITIES", Beiste Kunstraum, Photoszene Festival Köln 2023, installation views
The double exhibition with Antonia Gruber focuses on corporeality and body perception. The photo sculptures are based on an image research on Social Media with hashtags like #bodytransformation, #skinrejuvenation, #plasticsurgery. Methods as cutting, stapling and the unbound shapes of the sculptures as a result reflect and transfer the idea of transformability of our bodies. For the second part of the exhibition during Photoszene Festival in Cologne, I developed three 3 m tall individual sculptures which were placed in the exhibition space in correspondence with Antonia Grubers polaroid installation on the walls. The exhibition space Beiste Satellite was created as an interim use in an office building in the center of Cologne (Brüsseler Strasse).
