The installation is based on an image research in social media on SUVs, which are effectively staged in front of an heroized, overwhelming landscape. The world view conveyed here, in which nature is portrayed as a counterpart that must be conquered with the help of a highly motorized luxury car, escapes a consumer logic whose consequences actually make the world inhospitable. The vicious circle of ever more technology, which is necessary to live on a devastated planet (and thus further damaging it), is broken in this work by the radical gesture of cutting off the SUVs. Spread out on the ground, they form a pile of civilization’s junk, while the remains of nature, slowly rotating around its own axis, are able to recover.
